BOOST West Norfolk July 25
BOOST West Norfolk is a UKSPF project delivered in partnership between Norfolk County Council and Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. The current project is operating alongside the BOOST Breckland project, with both due to end on 31 March 2026.
The project is aimed at young people aged 16 – 30 who are living in West Norfolk and are currently unemployed and not in education. The project is centred around raising aspirations, building confidence and highlighting the range of career opportunities across West Norfolk. The project has a number of outputs and outcomes to measure success, and these range from the number of young people we are able to support to gain employment, improving employability through increased interpersonal skills, taking part in education and achieving a qualification.
We have a range of activities scheduled over the next few months –
17th July – BOOST Your Work Readiness, bite size sessions on the following –
CVs explained and improved
Interview skills, tips and techniques
30th July – Bike Maintenance – this session is about supporting independent travel, not only do they take part in a training session to understand bike maintenance, but the young person is given a bike, helmet and lock.
7th August – BOOST Your Work Readiness, bite size sessions on the following –
Planning for being work ready
Resilience and Breaking down barriers to success
18th, 19th & 21st August – Introduction to Office based roles
16th – 18th September – ELEVATE – this programme is preparation for The King’s Trust TEAMS programme, aimed at young people further away from employment and working with a specialist training provider.
23rd – 25th September – Beauty Skills and Careers
7th – 9th October – Retail Masterclass
21st – 23rd October – Pathways to Nature (at Watatunga)
Please do come back to me if you have any questions at all. BOOST is a fantastic project, and we are looking to get the word out into all the communities so we can reach as many young people as possible who can benefit from the provision.
